'Heaven' Can Wait: New MNDR Video

Photobucket

Hipster-pop princess MNDR recently released her new synth-pop single "#1 In Heaven," along with a brand new music video to match. Styled in her best early 90's duds, MNDR is stylishly ironic in the video which makes use of a bunch of cool cute-and-paste vide effects (though not nearly as trippy as her last video for "Cut Me Out"). It's a cool cut for an equally cool track. Check out the single and video below, out on Ultra Records now:

Katy B At Drom NYC (1/25)

Photobucket

What do you get when you cross-pollinate the street swag of early Lily Allen, the twinkling electro pop of Ellie Goulding, and the 90's urban-rave aesthetic of Crystal Waters? Why, you get the UK based dubstep/dancehall Queen Bee herself, Katy B! And the crowd was certainly buzzing last night as Katy hit her last US stop on tour at hip downtown lounge Drom in NYC.

The adorable redheaded dance-pop princess, whose debut album 'On A Mission' blew up last year with its electro, funk-house, and dubstep influences, was all smiles throughout the night as she took to the small stage in front of a crowd of fans eager to dance until the lights came on.

Photobucket

Katy kicked off her set with "Louder," one of my favorites off her album, and the crowd was more than happy to give Katy what she wanted, literally getting louder and louder as the pint-sized pop star bounced around the stage.

Photobucket

The tiny powerhouse blasted through an electric set that included fan favorites like girl anthem "Easy Please Me" and "Broken Record," playfully chatting with the audience and even throwing out free merchandise into the crowd. Memorably, "Witches Brew" was just as mesmerizing live as it is on the record, and Katy clearly had everyone under her spell as she crooned through the witchy, twinkly electro-pop track.

Photobucket

The chanteuse slowed things down a bit on soulful r&b-tinged tracks "Power On Me" and "Disappear," but the night was far from low on energy, especially when Katy launched into dance-funk club hit "Lights On," Katy commanding the stage with ease and encouraging the obedient crowd to dance.

Photobucket

Finally, Katy closed her set with the track that started it all, hit single "Katy On A Mission," to which the crowd went absolutely wild, singing along passionately, and which Katy performed with bonafide pop star swag, thanking the crowd excitedly for purchasing her album and dedicating the song to all of her supporters. Katy capped off the night by sweetly thanking the crowd again, blowing kisses to her fans, and telling the crowd to "get home safe!"

Photobucket

Despite the small stage and intimate lounge venue, Katy B put on an extremely electric show, with naught but a DJ and charming MC backing her up throughout the night. She bewitched the crowd with her adorable personality, energetic stage swag, explosive dance-pop catalogue, and her very impressive vocal chops. If you have a chance to check her out live, I highly recommend you do so!

'Dancing Shoes': Sweet New Dev Video

Photobucket

Californian electro-rap cutie Dev, whose debut album 'The Night The Sun Came Up' is scheduled to hit the USA like a ton of polished pop bricks on March 27, recently dropped the super sweet (we're talking saccharine here, folks) video for her new single "Dancing Shoes."

The twinkling electro-pop track starts off with Dev primping in a dressing room behind a stage, and we cut back and forth between her and a cute, chubby guy in a rainbow tutu similarly getting ready. Soon Dev slides into her seat in the audience and the male dancer takes the stage with some unique dance moves, much to the ill-intentioned amusement of the judgemental audience. Suddenly, as the dancer is about to fall victim to a prank from one of the audience members, the empathetic (and gorgeous, might I add) Dev jumps up to the rescue. The result is a simple, poignant, and sweet no-frills video.

Kills Her 'Boyfriend': New Natalia Kills Video

Photobucket

Dark-pop diva Natalia Kills is back once again with another twisted high-fashion video for her new, equally twisted dance-pop single. "Kill My Boyfriend" finds Miss Kills enjoying seemingly suburban domestic bliss with her chiseled boy-toy. That is, until she snaps and decides to do him in... in the milkiest way possible. (Seriously though, it's literally death by milk.) Check out the new video below:

Live A Little: New Adrian Lux Feat. The Good Natured

Photobucket

English new-wavers The Good Natured have unleashed their unique spooky-glam brand of dark-pop once again, teaming up with Swedish electro producer Adrian Lux on a new European dance smash called "Alive." Throbbing beats, a heavy bassline, and trance synths mark the track as one of the band's most club-friendly releases, while also staying true to vocalist Sarah's unique personal brand of neo-gothic sex appeal. The neon-tinged video - both dark and brooding with fog oozing onto the floor, as well as bright and glam with neon lights flashing - is a perfect mix of both the producer's Euro-dance sensibilities and the band's dark-pop origins. Check out the video below:

You can visit The Good Natured online here. "Alive" is available off Adrian Lux's new 'Alive - The Remixes' single EP.

Fall Into The 'Twilight': New Track From UVS & Ferras

Photobucket

Hyper-pop group Ultraviolet Sound recently teamed up with LA-based urban pop singer-songwriter Ferras on a new track called "Twilight." The freshly dropped song is a gorgeous electro-ballad featuring smooth, sweeping synths and beats that cushion UVS vocalist Sarah Hudson's emotional vocals, as well as Ferras' smooth urban crooning. The track is very reminiscent of an early-to-mid 90's club-pop ballad, and the chemistry between the two singers' voices is undeniable, just like the track itself. Take a listen below:

Peak Perfection: Skrillex & Ellie Goulding Team Up

Photobucket

Starry-eyed poptronica songstress Ellie Goulding teamed up with internationally acclaimed dubstep producer Skrillex on a shiny new track called "Summit" off his recently released 'Bangarang EP.' The meshing of Goulding's honey-dipped, airy vocals within Skrillex's jagged, high-energy production is pure aural ecstacy, resulting in a hard, atmospheric dub-trance track that will no doubt please both Goulding and Skrillex fans. Check out the song below:
